Assessment participators:
The 2016 bachlor-straight-to-doctorate students , the 2017 general doctoral students and the graduate students who were enrolled in September 2017; doctoral students who missed the mid-term assessment before for various reasons, and those who have not passed the first time needs to participate in this assessment. (For the list of students who are required to participate mid-term assessment, please see the attachment. If you are not listed in the form, please send an email to msecj@zju.edu.cn or come to office 319 Caoguangbiao Building.
Checking time:
It is expected to be in late October and early November 2018 (the specific time and place will be updated)
Operating procedures:
1.Individual application:
Students who need to be assessed should submit the paper version of the following materials to office 319 from October 15th to October 18th (8:30-12:00, 13:30-17:30), and send the electronic version to mse_edu@ zju.edu.cn.
(1) “Ministerial Assessment of Doctoral Students in the School of Materials Science and Engineering” (paper version, signature by the supervisor) and “Ph.D. Midterm Assessment Data Sheet of the School of Materials Science and Engineering” (electronic version)
(2) Proof of research products (first page of the thesis or patent authorization page) (paper version).
Please also submit the following materials during the interview (for students who do not attend the interview, please handover to other students who participate in the interview)
"Zhejiang University Postgraduate Examination Form" (Log in the "Zhejiang University Graduate Education Management Information System" mid-term assessment page for personal information, assessment team members and other information (the assessment team members to be updated in the attachment), and then export "Zhejiang University graduate student mid-term Appraisal Form. Please get the signature from the instructor and type in the review comments into the system. (Paper version, a separate personal summary is required).
2.Group assessment:
The college will organize an assessment team with at least 3 teachers to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the research ability of the students, and conclude an assessment level (the number of outstanding students should not exceed 20% of the total number of assessments). Students who do not have scientific research results, please prepare a presentation with ppt within 10 minutes, to introduce the current research content, progress and expected results. (The list of students who need to participate in the interview assessment is attached to the list to be updated)
3.College assessment:
Based on the assessment results given by each institute, the college will conduct survey of students lagging behind.
4.The results of the mid-term assessment will be publicized for one week.
Assessment method and content:
The assessment content includes two parts: course test scores and research ability assessment.
1.Course exam and content:
Two postgraduate core courses (material thermodynamics and dynamics, material modern research methods), those who achieve 60 points or more are exempt from the test. (please consult office 319 for more information)
2.Research capacity assessment:
It mainly assesses the background knowledge of the research subjects, the current research progress, scientific research skills and scientific research potential.
